On the basis of the Carbon Audit established in 2008, Icade aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 10% by 2011. Two tools have been developed to achieve this objective: • one to manage the reduction in energy consumption. Accessible via an Internet portal, it archives the carbon footprint of each entity, tracks their changes, and recommends solutions to deliver progress; • the other is to manage grey energy (greenhouse gases generated during the construction of a building) known as “CECOBA”. This will be applied from 2010 on the Group’s development operations, and will enable the greenhouse gases emitted during the construction of a building to be measured (up to more than twenty years of operation in greenhouse gas equivalents). It will enable technical choices to be arbitrated which minimise greenhouse gases.
